Our tanker is a 3000 gallon Marion super dumper built on a 2000 Sterling chassis. It has a Caterpillar engine and a 6 speed Allison automatic transmission. It can dump water out of either side or the rear and with the hydralic lift, it's capable of dumping it's entire 3000 gallon load in just over a minute. The chassis was paid for by the Town of St. Germain at a cost of $85,000 and the body was purchased with Fire Department fund raising money at a cost of $27,000.. |
Our rescue van is a 1997 Chevy 1 ton which was purchased thru Sedlak's Chevrolet. After purchasing the van, it was sent to Texas to be converted to 4 wheel drive. After it's trip down south, it returned to Rhinelander where the extended top was added. At that point it went to Boulder Junction to have custom cabinets installed. It was paid for in full by Fire Department fund raising money at a cost of $35,000. |

Our Brush Truck is a 1985 Chevy 1 ton 4 wheel drive with tandem wheels, a 454 cu. in. engine and an automatic transmission. It was an army surplus vehicle which was origanlly an ambulance in Germany but it was to wide for their roads over there and they had problems with the vehicles rolling over. The ambulance bodies were stipped and the trucks sent back to the states. The body was custom built for the fire department by J & B Fabricating and Repair in Tilledo, WI. Total cost of the vehicle was $18,000 and was paid for in full by Fire Department fund raising money. |
This vehicle is a 2002, 4 door, 4 wheel drive, 3/4 ton Chevy. It is used as a personnel carrier, for hauling hoses back from a fire, pulling the John Deere Gator and is also fully equiped for rescue calls. It was paid for in full by Fire Department fund raising money at a cost of $33,000. |
